Virtual Tour - Six Islington Squares
Event Information
About this Event
Enjoy an hour looking at the domestic architecture of 19th century Islington on this Zoom virtual tour
During the 19th Century the farmland of Barnsbury gave way to a succession of building schemes that created some of the worlds first suburbs. Each square was developed by a different landowner with a different architect, so they each have their own look. Rob will look at the people who lived in the squares - theatre critics, journalists, singers and experts in guerilla warfare!
This is a live virtual tour hosted via Zoom video conferencing where your guide will give an illustrated presentation of the tour route with an accompanying talk. There will be opportunities for questions and interaction both during and after the virtual tour.
Review of this walk
"Our guide Rob was really great and we loved the six squares of islington walk - brilliant Thursday evening activity and we saw our local area, where we've lived for many years, in a whole new light. Good balance of factual and entertaining stories. I've been on many London walks and would definitely use this walks organisation again." C.C
