In this two-day workshop, participants will be taught and exposed to:
o short case history presentation and discussion (1 each day)
o the principles and models behind visceral osteopathy
o the visceral relationships in the abdominal cavity, including location, ligamentous connections, position of the main visceral-structural relationships
o selected visceral techniques that would be suitable for participants who have a strong structural, biomechanical concept of the body and health
o visceral techniques will include palpation of the whole abdomen and the ligamentous structures, assessment and mobilisation of the diaphragm, liver, stomach, duodenum, small intestine, mobilization of abdominal transitional zones or "sphincters”
Valeria Ferreira was born in Brazil and is an enthusiastic and committed osteopath and cranial osteopath. She has completed an MSc in osteopathy (2006) and now works in the clinic at the British School of Osteopathy and leads on the visceral technique elective course.

The BSO is the oldest osteopathic institution in Europe. It is at the forefront of CPD education for osteopaths and welcomes participants from other professions.
