Speaker: Colin Hatfield, Chief Executive, Visible Leaders
Research by The Leadership Council shows business leaders rank communication as the single most important skill of leadership. YouGov research shows it to be one of the most powerful drivers of engagement. As we move into the era of the collaboration-economy, leaders’ reliance on communication will only increase
Used well, it persuades, influences, inspires. Without it there is only command and control, cold authority, and the basic transaction between leader and employee.
How should visibility in communication be managed in a multi-channel communications environment? What sort of benchmarks should be used by leaders to assess their own communications performance as they strive to improve it?
Colin Hatfield has 30 years experience working in Branding and Communications. Starting his career at Imagination, he moved to Bell Pottinger as Director in charge of leadership and corporate communication consultancy. He was subsequently a director of The Company Agency and then Senior Partner of the Leadership Agency before starting his own organisation, Visible Leaders, in January 2013. This is now an international organisation with an enviable range of blue chip clients in Europe and North America. Colin takes a practical approach to developing communications skills, something which will benefit us all as Business Psychologists.
It is expected that the presentation will last 45 minutes followed by approximately 30 minutes of Q&A and networking will as usual be encouraged at this event.
