Description

Tuesday 28th January 2020 at 1pm - 2:30pm

Rooms 18.4/5/6, 18th floor, City Hall

The Westminster Women's Network are launching our vision for 2020 to mark the beginning of the decade! We have listened to your views about what support you want from the Network and the Council in the survey we shared in October 2019. Your feedback has shaped the foundations of our vision for 2020, made up of four priorities:

1. Championing women's health

2. Returning to work support

3. Providing career progression opportunities, tools and training

4. Celebrating women

We will be launching our vision for 2020 in an interactive workshop in January, where you will have the opportunity to provide feedback and challenge to the proposed priorities. We are fortunate enough to also be joined by Chief Inspector Helen Harper from the London Metropolitan Police and Bernie Flaherty, Bi-Borough Executive Director for Adult Social Care and WCC Diversity & Inclusion Champion. Helen is the most senior police officer operating in the Tri-Borough will be sharing her career journey and challenges whilst working in the Met - all whilst bringing up two children - during the second part of the workshop. Our very own Bernie Flaherty will be facilitating and also kindly sharing her own experiences of being a senior female leader.

We encourage all staff members, regardless of gender, to join us at City Hall to welcome in the new decade and an ambitious year ahead for the Women's Network! Refreshments will be provided.

We look forward to seeing you there.

The Westminster Women's Network

---

The Women’s Network exists to provide all women with the resources and opportunities that they feel they need to fulfil their full potential as members of a fair and equal workforce. In collaboration with staff, subject matter experts and ambassadors for women, we will respond to the real experiences of women from across the Council at all levels with innovative and enterprising initiatives that facilitate networking, career progression, personal development and empowerment. We are intersectional, inclusive and offer a platform for all those who identify as women or are passionate about supporting equality and women’s rights in the workplace to inspire and support each other to create a better workplace for all.

If you would like to join the Network and receive updates from us via email, please contact womensnetwork@westminster.gov.uk and join in the conversation on our Yammer group.
