Description

Green and Smart Cities: Can Devolution drive a low carbon future?

Vision10 is an important policy forum designed to create, shape and influence thinking on what needs to be done to realise a low carbon industrial strategy for the UK. Vision10 brings together policy-makers, business leaders and Parliamentarians to examine the challenges facing the UK’s low carbon economy.

Our next evidence session will examine how our major cities and devolved city-regions can lead the way to a cleaner, smarter and greener economy. Those Metro Mayoral cities and authorities who have been empowered to produce their own local industrial strategy have a real opportunity to support innovation and low carbon technologies.

We are delighted to welcome to the session:

Dr Alan Whitehead MP, Shadow Minister for Energy and Climate Change

Anna McMorrin MP, Member of Parliament for Cardiff North

Chris Hewett, CEO, Solar Trade Association

Faye Scott, UK Research and Policy Manager, Ashden

Chair: Polly Billington, UK100 (tbc)

We will hear from parliamentarians and leaders from across the UK about their vision to drive greener politics in their regions and discuss what more can be done to foster independence, create green jobs, develop green infrastructure and promote low carbon innovation.

We look forward to welcoming you on the 24th April.
