A free educational event for aspiring female students to develop their business and technical skills in a pitch and presentation challenge.

About this Event

Visionaries delivered by Digital Schoolhouse, Alexandra Palace and e-Magine is a free educational event for aspiring female students aged 11-13 years, which aims to develop both business and technical skills in a pitch and presentation challenge.

This event is supported by the Creative Digital industries and designed to spark innovative, forward-thinking and sustainable ideas for our present and future digital economy. Visionaries also spotlights viable careers pathways through networking opportunities with industry professionals throughout the day.

How does it work?

  • Fifteen teams of five students will compete
  • A creative brief will be distributed to participating schools for teams to review ahead of the day
  • On the day, teams will be provided with a number of resources to develop a prototype and create a pitch and presentation in answer to the creative brief, with the help of a dedicated mentor from the Creative Digital industries
  • Pitches will be presented to an expert panel of judges and a winning team will be selected as the Visionaries Champions 2020

Digital Schoolhouse together with Nintendo UK, uses playful learning to engage the next generation of pupils and teachers with the Computing curriculum. Digital Schoolhouse is delivered by the UK games industry trade body Ukie and is supported by the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).

Alexandra Palace's Creative Learning works with schools and colleges across Haringey and neighbouring boroughs, offering an exciting range of workshops, projects, takeovers and events throughout the year. The programme offers many opportunities for enrichment with a focus on creativity that spans the whole curriculum.

e-Magine conducts customised training and workshops for individuals of all ages to equip them with the skills that will prove to be a major asset regardless of the industry in which they belong. For, our focus is to help our trainees realise their potential and enable them to feel empowered as they #DARETOEMAGINE, and come up with innovative and practical solutions to real world problems.

Creative Careers Programme (CCP) exists to inform and inspire young people about careers that they may have never even heard of. Kick-started by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, through practical activities and resources, the CCP informs young people directly about the opportunities in this world-leading sector through meaningful encounters with industry professionals, online tools, training and support for teachers and more.
