Event description
Visionary Boscombe installation and workshops as part of BEAF Festival created through a day of participatory workshops.

About this event

We will be presenting The Shrine of Obsolescence, a Mexican Ofrenda-style shrine to objects we believe will become obsolete in the future. We will also present A Postcard from the Future, in which participants write a postcard from 2121 to 2021, read out by spoken word artist Reuben Tyler-Wilkinson.

Groups of up to 4 children are also invited to create atmospheric sound music on Max’s Boat (see #100years Tour page for more details), and hear the CODA Fiddle Orchestra in open rehearsal and performance of a live score to Where the Wild Things Are, the eerie bedtime story by Maurice Sendak, also narrated by one of the CFO.

Finally, children are invited to attend two diorama/ miniature set workshops with graphic novelist Hannah Eaton, based on the utopian/dystopian / futurologist themes inspired by Boscombe heritage figure Mary Shelley. https://thecabinetoflivingcinema.org.uk/project/visionaryboscombe/

All ages welcome.
