Description

Brooks’s was founded in 1764, designed by architect Henry Holland and completed in 1778. This visit takes in all the major rooms of the gentlemen’s clubhouse, as well as the significant collection of portraits, which belongs to the Society of Dilettanti, and includes major works by Thomas Lawrence, Joshua Reynolds, John Singer Sargent and many more. The visit is led by Charles Sebag-Montefiore, a trustee of Brooks’s, joint secretary of the Society of Dilettanti and a former trustee of Art Fund.
