Event description

Description

The Visit Derry Conference Ambassador Programme is a initiative to increase the number of conferences hosted in the city, working in partnership with a network of academics and clinicians who promote the city as a conference destination within their affiliations to professional bodies, Associations, Societies and Institutes.

Ulster University plays a key role in driving the growth of the city's conference industry - hosting a conference is an invaluable opportunity to showcase our academic and research excellence whilst continuing to build upon our network of global contacts to establish our position as a leading academic institution.

In partnership with Visit Derry, Ulster has secured a wide range of National and International conferences, most notably the 30th World Congress of the International Association for Suicide Prevention which will attract over 800 leading academics and clinicians to the city in September 2019, a phenomenal achievement for the University and the city.

We invite you to join us for an informal lunch to learn more about the Ambassador Programme, how you can get involved and the wide range of supports that Visit Derry can offer when bidding for and hosting a conference. We are delighted that Professor Siobhan O'Neill (Ulster University) and Barry McGale (Suicide Bereavement UK) will be there to talk about their journey to secure the city's first ever World Congress and the benefits of hosting such a prestigious event.

We look forward to seeing you there,

Dr Malachy O'Neill (Ulster University) & Aoife Thomas (Visit Derry)
