Thank you for planning a visit to Fort Nelson. We are really looking forward to seeing you.

The Fort is open Wednesdays to Sundays during term time and daily during school and bank holidays.

To allow us to manage the number of visitors on site we need you to book an arrival time in advance and let us know how many people will be in your party. Once at the museum you may stay as long as you wish. Fort Nelson closes at 4pm.

Choose your arrival time from the following timeslots:

10.00 am – 11.00am / 11.00 am – 12.00 pm / 12.00 pm – 1.00 pm / 1.00 pm – 2.00 pm / 2.00 pm – 3.00 pm

Parking - please book a free visitor ticket for everyone in your party and reserve your parking space - £3 per car.

Parking is free for blue badge holders and we have 4 spaces close to the museum entrance, available on a first-come-first -served basis.

Cyclists and walkers - please book a free visitor ticket for everyone in your party. Please visit our website for more information and FAQs.

Assistance Dogs are welcome at Fort Nelson, including in the museum galleries, visitor centre, cafe and outdoor areas. Pet animals are not permitted.
