Event description

Description

Designed by Christopher Wren, Marlborough House was built in 1711 for Sarah Churchill, Duchess of Marlborough, the confidante of Queen Anne. For more than a century, it served as the town house of the Dukes of Marlborough and three Dowager Queens and three Princes of Wales have lived there. Today it is the seat of the Commonwealth Secretariat. This guided tour includes the fine rooms, decorated with murals, tapestries, paintings and sculptures, which relay the history of the building and its occupants.

Please note the possibility that the date of the tour may have to be changed if the rooms are required for official meetings of the Commonwealth Secretariat. Should this occur we will let you know as soon as possible.
