Normally closed to the public, the Muniment Room contains original charters, deeds, and documents that reveal the Abbey’s role in national life, from coronations and royal ceremonies to charitable work. During this guided visit, you will learn about the careful preservation and conservation of these priceless artefacts and gain a deeper appreciation of the Abbey as both a living place of worship and a custodian of national heritage.
The visit also includes the Abbey Library, home to a remarkable collection of rare books and scholarly works that reflect Westminster Abbey’s rich intellectual and research heritage.
