In response to the rapid growth of its online sales, John Lewis Partnership acquired the 1,000,000 sq. ft. Fenny Lock DC in Milton Keynes, in close proximity to JL's leading DC Magna Park campus. Logistex secured the contract to refit and repurpose the facility for primarily e-commerce fulfilment, using some of the existing conveyor systems and also implementing major automation from Hai Robotics and Knapp.

Starting initial operation in 2022 and with full fit-out completed in 2024, the facility now includes a high-density tote storage solution of 104,000 single deep locations. The solution is capable of processing up to 1500 totes an hour via 60 AMRs (autonomous mobile robots) operating up to 10m height for tote storage and retrieval plus 9 workstations.

CILT members now have an opportunity to visit this impressive facility. The event will include a presentation on the project from Logistex, including challenges and solutions, followed by a tour of the site with plenty of opportunity for questions, learning and networking.

To ensure all delegates gain maximum benefit from attendance, we’ll operate this event in two separate groups of maximum 20 people in each group, with one group attending in the morning, one in the afternoon, but both groups sharing a buffet lunch.
