Event description

Description

Wentworth Woodhouse is one of the finest and grandest Georgian houses in England. The Earl of Staffords C17 house was enclosed by an early C18 Baroque West front itself superceded almost immediately by the Paladian East front. A centre of the Whig hierarchy it was one of the most expensive ever built and ranks amongst Britains largest and most important country houses. As part of the Conservation course (but open to others), we will be making a guided tour of the mansion which is undergoing £7.6m repair and conservation works and gardens with their monuments.

The Conservation Architecture Course provides participants with a framework of knowledge and understanding to support their decision making process on projects and enable them to apply for recognition of their skills within the IHBC and other Conservation Accreditation Schemes.

    Who is the course for?

The course is aimed at construction professionals who:

    • wish to develop their specialism in conservation

    • want to develop practical knowledge and skills

    • wish to refresh their knowledge or formalise learning from experience in the field

    • need to provide evidence to support their application onto full IHBC and other accreditation schemes.
