Visitor Finder Cultural Tourism workshop
11 November 2015, 13:00 - 17:00
A half day workshop focused on understanding your cultural tourism offer to meet clusters’ economic and place agendas. This is a chance for you to hear about a range of successful UK and international case studies and share your own stories of success and failure to improve and develop their individual and/or cluster cultural tourism strategies. It will combine theory, case studies and research with practical and interactive elements such as:
- The different ideas behind ‘cultural tourism’ as a concept, looking both at the way that existing tourists interact with cultural organisations and at cultural organisations as drivers of tourism.
- How realistic cultural tourism strategies are in practice, examining which sorts of organisations are appropriate.
- An overview of the existing research and evaluation material on cultural tourism, including cultural tourism segmentation.
- An examination of the associate organisations and businesses that are crucial to the development of successful strategies.
