Visual Arts : Homemade Presents for Christmas
Homemade gifts from children touch the heart of all who receive them. Perhaps your children would like to have the opportunity to make a well-crafted Christmas presents for their family and friends, or perhaps teachers?
A great opportunity to create a unique and valued Christmas gift each week leading up to Christmas. Children will enjoy putting something of themselves into each gift they give this year, as maker Joanna Wright shares her expertise and reveals her special techniques.
This is a collective group of six classes that are taken every Tuesday at 4pm to 5pm. They can be booked as a group, to ensure maximum participation or the classes may be booked on an individual basis.
08/11/16: Make a lavender envelope. Using envelope template, learn to make your own envelopes. Fill the envelope with lavender or pot-pourri, cover with drawings and stamps and give as a gift.
15/11/16: Learn to construct a small card box to put a gift or treasured possession in or even your own hand made sweets. We will provide sweets if required.
22/11/16: Stitch a bow brooch
Using a fabric of your choice learn how to make a small fabric bow and attach a brooch fitting to the rear.
29/11/16: Make a notebook
How wonderful to always jot down those treasured memories, important dates or even a recipe. Learn how to tear and stitch paper into your very own notebook
06/12/16: Poem in a Jar
Inspiring you to come up with a poem, using an old typewriter, type it up and put in a glass jar and give as a gift
13/12/16: Stitch a felt decoration for a Christmas tree
Each gift will have its own special wrapping paper, ribbon and gift tag.
