“How do I create a display – just where do I start?”
We'll talkabout why first impressions are crucial for any business, not just retailers, and how eye-catching window and interior displays can help you raise your profiles and increase sales. You’ll be amazed how a couple of simple, inexpensive changes can make all the difference to your business!
Accompanied by an inspirational PowerPoint presentation we'll teach you the basic points and principles of display – fundamental rules and guidelines, balance, space, focal points, colour, sight lines, grouping, planning, signage, tools of the trade as well as much more. Upcycling and budget is something we cover too.
We'll enhance the talk with demonstrations and show examples of props and materials we've used as well as our supplier list.
Once you've a clear understanding of the display rules, we'll practise basic grouping techniques using simple shapes, and if time allows we'll do a couple of other simple projects you’ll find invaluable for most displays too - and we'll work with your own merchandise if you bring a small selection along with you. You'll receive a set of full notes which will be a useful reminder once we've gone.
This will be the perfect springboard from which you’ll gain inspiration and enthusiasm in order to move your businesses forward to the next level...

When & Where
MADE YOU LOOK!
Helen has worked in display her entire career. She trained in the heart of London’s West End where she gained the British Display Society’s Advanced Level Diploma in Visual Display and Window Dressing. It was there that she met Janet, and following college they both started working for large companies before working freelance for a variety of retailers from small independents to large national chains.
Due to a growing demand for display training, Helen and Janet created Made You Look! where they now pass on their knowledge and experience, emphasising the importance of good displays and the impact they have on sales not only for themselves, but surrounding businesses too.
