Event description

Description

Ever since the Middle Ages, art and science have worked together to understand the natural world. We will be looking at the different ways in which people have tried to visualise nature, from the illustrations in medieval bestiaries, through John Ruskin’s precise drawing techniques, and on to today’s most up-to-date computer technologies. As well as a panel discussion, there will be a pop-up exhibition of texts, drawings and objects from the Bodeleian Library, the Ruskin Research Centre and the Museum.
