About this Event

Aleksander (Sasho) Djurka, CIO of Vestiaire Collective & Vlerick MGM Alumnus 2014, will present this online kick-off event for the French Alumni Community. This event is a first step in building a Vlerick alumni network in France.

Sasho will discuss the importance of data in e-commerce and the impact of Covid-19 on the industry. The Covid-19 crisis has made e-commerce more important than ever: from small local shop owners having to transform their business, to global platforms strengthening and expanding to meet the rise in demand.

And data is a core element in successful e-commerce platforms: data can help acquire and retain clients as well as provide insights for better business management and innovation.

About Vestiaire Collective: Online marketplace for buying and selling luxury second-hand apparel. French start-up launched in 2009, raised over €200 million in venture capital.

About  Aleksander (Sasho) Djurka: After graduating in Vlerick’s MGM Porthos class in July 2014, Sasho worked at AT Kearney back in his home country, Slovenia, before joining Lazada Group in South Asia where he became VP of data engineering for this e-commerce platform. In February 2019, Vestiaire Collective recruited Sasho to lead the company’s data strategy. In January 2020, Sasho joined the executive team as Chief Information Officer.
