Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

This event is a must for any nurses who are developing a leadership role within their nursing team. We will give some practical advice on how to make this move without causing unnecessary conflict – ensuring you take your team along with you!

The event is free to attend and you could count this towards your CPD.

The event will comprise:

"Taking that first BIG Step – managing others" - Gordon Dunn - Director of People, Pets at Home Vet Group.

Gordon will be giving tips and insights in managing others aimed at those who are making the transition into a management role; including avoiding that ‘difficult conversation’ along with employment law pitfalls. Gordon has 30 years’ experience of working in HR across the retail sector, Financial services, human healthcare and now veterinary healthcare.

“How to keep friends and influence people” lead by Renay Rickard RVN CVPM.

Renay is the current VPMA President and Practice Manager of a large multisite mixed practice in Cornwall. With over 30 years’ experience in practice and now with responsibility for the development plans for a team of over 100 team members she will be giving some practical tips on how to set up an effective and positive team development / appraisal process.

There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion. Our aim is to help take some of the stress and worry out of leading a team and give some reassurance and guidance. Managing people can be one of the most rewarding aspects of our jobs... but also the most challenging.

You are not on your own - we have all been there so let’s get together and share experiences and advice.

The event will take place in the Club House, Sports Academy Centre at Hartpury College and a light supper will be provided from 6.15pm.

Timings:

18.15: Registration and supper

22.00: End

We look forward to seeing you there!
