Event description

Description

Join us for an evening of talks and Q&A exploring the issue of modern day slavery, and how it can be represented visually. We will be joined by Professor Zoe Trodd - Director of the Rights Lab, and Leila Segal - Director of Voice of Freedom. There will also be time to look around the photography exhibition and a drinks reception will be provided.

Voice of Freedom works with women who have escaped trafficking and torture, bringing the voices of the enslaved to a wide public for the first time. The project enables the women to document their lives, feelings and experiences through the camera lens, and supports them as they create texts in their own words to accompany the images.

The Rights Lab is home to the world's leading modern slavery experts and has built a large-scale research platform for ending slavery, based at the University of Nottingham.

This evening event is free entry, but spaces are limited, so please do reserve your place here. Please note that the exhibition will also be open from 11am - 4.30pm to drop in.
