A discussion with Justin Tomkins around lessons for churches drawn from his recent 'Voices on Technology' survey.
About this event
During this event Justin Tomkins will seek to describe and open up a discussion around his recent work on the 'Voices on Technology' survey.
Through engaging with Christians working professionally in science, medicine and technology he's identified ten lessons for the Church. These lessons are rooted in what we can learn from the professional experience of those in our congregations who are working at technological front-lines of our contemporary world. As well as medicine and education these front-lines involve energy, transport, AI, robotics and communications. Insights of the more than three hundred professionals involved has implications for our prayer, teaching, thinking and social engagement. All are welcome.
Rev Dr Justin Tomkins is a Church of England priest in the Chelmsford Diocese and a scientist by background.
The session will be hosted by Dr Gavin Merrifield from the CiS Manchester local group.
