About this event

Scotstown Moor Wetland Restoration

This hands-on initiative will involve the digging of wetland pools, which will provide homes for aquatic animals, notably dragonflies and damselfies. If the weather allows, we will also transfer sphagnum moss from the upper wetland to the SSSI area. Sphagnum is a key species in wetland ecosystems, plaing a vital role in carbon sequestration and water retention. This restoration project will contribute to the long-term health of Scotstown Moor, whilst preserving the site as a British Dragonfly Society hotspot.
