Discover the amazing work of our local charities, and find out how you can get involved! There are opportunities available to suit all schedules, skills and preferences, and volunteering is a great way to feel connected to your community and provide valuable experiences.
We will also have an all-day schedule of talks and workshops related to volunteering - these are free to attend for all, no registration needed!
Talks & Workshops Timetable
🟣11:15 - 12:00: Corporate Volunteering: From One-Offs to Long-Term Impact
This session aims to explore how charities and businesses can work together to create meaningful and sustainable volunteering partnerships that benefit both sides. We'll be joined by representatives from Stone King LLP, and Claire Gates, Owner of Lambridge Consulting and Chair of Radio Bath.
🟣12:15 - 13:00: Inclusive & Flexible Volunteering: Volunteering Without Barriers
This workshop will help organisations design volunteer opportunities that are welcoming, adaptable, and inclusive to people from all walks of life - including disabled people, carers, neurodivergent individuals, older volunteers, and more. We'll be joined by representatives from the University of Bath for this session.
🟣 13:15 - 14:00: Youth Volunteering: Volunteering That Works for Gen Z
In this session we aim to explore how organisations can attract, support, and retain young volunteers (typically aged 16-25) in ways that are meaningful for both the volunteer and the charity. We'll be joined by Dom Chambers, radio presenter, CEO of Soundvision and Director of Local Media Network, and a current volunteer of his, Clara. Staff and students from Kingswood School will also be part of this insightful session.
🟣14:15 - 15:00: Tech & AI for Volunteering: Smarter Support for Volunteer Management
We'll be exploring how charities and community groups can use simple digital tools and emerging AI to support volunteer coordination, without losing the human touch. Speaker TBC.
This is a drop-in event and there is no need to register to visit the Fair. Just turn up on the day and say Hi!
