Volunteer Management Workshops
Event Information
About this event
Lincolnshire Community & Voluntary Service (LCVS) in partnership with Voluntary Centre Services (VCS) and the Lincolnshire Volunteer Centres, have developed a series of Volunteer Management workshops to help voluntary sector groups and charities improve their skills and knowledge in recruiting, supporting and valuing their volunteers.
The programme is free for voluntary sector groups and charities working in Lincolnshire who are looking to recruit volunteers
It consists of 3 workshops which will be delivered over 5 half day sessions virtually on Zoom and will cover the volunteer journey from preparing your group for volunteers, to recruiting and supporting your volunteers to saying goodbye.
Groups can attend any of the five sessions depending on what stage they are in the volunteer management process.
The programme starts on Wednesday 12th January 2022, running for 4 consecutive Wednesdays until Wednesday 2nd February 2022 with the final workshop being held on Tuesday 8th February 2022.
Details of the full programme of Workshops are below:
Wednesday 12th January 2022 at 1pm (Session 1)
Workshop 1: Getting Your Organisation Ready for Volunteers
Aims: To ensure your group has the correct policies and procedures in place to recruit volunteers. We will also look at how volunteering links in with your organisation's mission, vision and strategies and why organisations take on volunteers as well as why people volunteer and why they don't.
Wednesday 19th and 26th February 2022 at 1pm (Sessions 2 & 3)
Workshop 2: Recruiting and Welcoming Volunteers & Making Volunteering Accessible to All
Aims: To be able to recruit and attract volunteers effectively for your organisation and have a wide range of volunteer roles available. We will also look at how you can make your organisation more inclusive for volunteers with additional needs and have a wider range of volunteers involved.
Wednesday 2nd and 8th February 2022 at 1pm (Sessions 4 & 5)
Workshop 3: Supporting, Supervising, Valuing and Developing Volunteers
Aims: To gain a greater understanding of how to support, value and develop volunteers with tips on conducting a good supervision session. We will also look at how you can deal with difficult situations and saying goodbye to volunteers.
Before attending
Before attending you will be sent all the course materials including a Volunteer Policy Template and provided with a Toolkit to complete for your organisation. The Toolkit will be worked through alongside the Workshops. This will give you all you need to hopefully put a robust volunteering programme in place.
Please also note that, due to our funding criteria, these workshops are only available for charities, community groups and partner organisations working and operating in Lincolnshire.
As the workshops follow on from one another, to get the most from the workshops we recommend that you are available to attend a minimum of 4 out of the 5 workshops. Please register for each of the events you are able to attend.
An email will be sent to you in the first week of January and a few days prior to each workshop giving you the Zoom link and providing you with the handouts and activities required during the workshop.
Please note that this course is very popular and places are limited. Please only book on if you are definitely intending to attend.
