About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

Are you wanting a space to share a successful volunteering activity or do you have a situation with your volunteers with which you’d like some support?

Join members of the Volunteer Organisers Network at our regular open forum to hear from peers at heritage organisations across Scotland and seek advice from other attendees on the volunteering topics you’d like to raise.

This is a great opportunity to talk with people in similar roles, share your volunteer organiser insights, ask questions and pick up practical tips.

To start the session, we'll ask attendees to introduce themselves, and share something that's working well with their volunteer programme, and something that they may be struggling with or need a bit of help with.

After that we'll head into small group discussions about themes that have emerged from everyone's introductions.

And finally, we'll reflect on our conversations and wrap up.

Organised by

The Volunteer Organisers Network is part of the Make Your Mark Campaign. Our role is to provide peer-to-peer support to anyone who works with volunteers, with a focus on ensuring that volunteers contributing to the heritage sector represent the diversity of Scotland’s population.

We support volunteer organisers by:

  • Organising a programme of network events, including short talks about case studies, Q&As and volunteer management training. These events will be online until it is safe to gather in person.
  • Curating a regular newsletter with good practice and new ideas of inclusive volunteer management.

The Volunteer Organisers Network is part of the Make Your Mark campaign to make heritage volunteering for all in Scotland. Heritage organisations in Scotland can join the Volunteers Organisers Network by signing the Make Your Mark Expression of Commitment.
