Event description
Slough Council for Voluntary Service and WAM GI are delivering via zoom Volunteer Passport: Boundaries & Confidentiality Training

About this event

The Volunteer Passport offers a series of 4 short training modules exploring the key areas all volunteers need to successfully volunteer with clients.

Boundaries and Confidentiality

Boundaries set the limits of what is and is not acceptable and helps to protect ourselves and service users by clarifying what types of behaviour and language will or will not be tolerated. It helps us to look and sound professional.

Confidentiality relates specifically to the protection of private information acquired through volunteering by staff and involves protecting and actively promoting the dignity and privacy of service users.

This module covers the following:

  • What are boundaries?
  • Confidentiality and Consent
  • Breaching confidentiality

Your choice of dates for Boundaries & Confidentiality on Wednesdays at 10am are:

29nd September 2021

3rd November 2021

1st December 2021

Once you have completed all four training modules (Communications, Boundaries and Confidentiality, Equality and Diversity, and Safeguarding), you will receive a Volunteer Passport, which gives you access to our volunteering newsletter crammed full of exciting features and exclusive volunteering events and the opportunity to volunteer in a variety of charities and voluntary organisations in Slough.

You can really make a difference!

This training is free to join but there is a cost to us to deliver it, so if you sign up and are unable to attend, please let us know so we can offer your place to someone else. For all of our training we need a minimum of 10 participants and may need to cancel if we have insufficient interest.

Slough CVS is a local charity funded to support groups in Slough, Windsor, Ascot, Maidenhead, and local areas and would appreciate it if you only register for this training if you provide services or intend to volunteer in the areas we serve. If we have places available 24 hours before the start of the training and you would like to attend but are not in our area of benefit, please email to reserve a place. Thank you for your cooperation.
