Event description
Slough Council for Voluntary Service and WAM GI are delivering via zoom Volunteer Passport: Safeguarding Children Training

About this event

The Volunteer Passport offers a series of 4 short training modules exploring the key areas all volunteers need to successfully volunteer with clients.

Safeguarding Children

Ever wondered what safeguarding is? Or how you would know if a child was at risk from abuse or neglect? Ever wondered where you could go to help them? What are your responsibilities as an individual, a group or a volunteer when it comes to keeping children safe? If you have ever asked any of these questions, this free training is for you and will include:

  • An introduction to safeguarding
  • How to recognise the signs that a child might be being abused or neglected
  • An introduction on what to do if you suspect abuse might be happening
  • Explain what your responsibilities are as a community group, a volunteer, staff member or member of the public to help keep children safe.

Safeguarding Children on Wednesdays at 10am on:

20th October 2021 - Face to Face session presented at 27 Church Street, Slough SL1 1PL

15th December 2021 - Online, Zoom link provided.

Once you have completed all four training modules (Communications, Boundaries and Confidentiality, Equality and Diversity, and Safeguarding), you will receive a Volunteer Passport, which gives you access to our volunteering newsletter crammed full of exciting features and exclusive volunteering events and the opportunity to volunteer in a variety of charities and voluntary organisations in Slough.

You can really make a difference!

This training is free to join but there is a cost to us to deliver it, so if you sign up and are unable to attend, please let us know so we can offer your place to someone else. For all of our training we need a minimum of 10 participants and may need to cancel if we have insufficient interest.

Slough CVS is a local charity funded to support groups in Slough, Windsor, Ascot, Maidenhead, and local areas and would appreciate it if you only register for this training if you provide services or intend to volunteer in the areas we serve. If we have places available 24 hours before the start of the training and you would like to attend but are not in our area of benefit, please email to reserve a place. Thank you for your cooperation.
