At Code Club, we think all children should have the opportunity to learn to code, no matter who they are or where they come from. Code Club is a key educational programme for The Raspberry Pi Foundation, working to help many more young people learn how to build their ideas with code. A nationwide network of after-school coding clubs for children, our training is designed to give teachers, community educators, volunteers and anyone interested in finding out more about what we do. All the information they need before they start running a Code Club.
The training will cover:
- What is Code Club?
- Volunteering with Code Club
- Working effectively with schools / community venues
- An introduction to Scratch & the Code Club projects
Who is the training for?
You do not need to have any prior knowledge of coding to join this session.
"The children pick up the material very quickly and soon start adding their own creative flare to projects – without even realising the valuable programming skills they’re gaining. Volunteering for Code Club has helped me with my ability to communicate and network with a range of people. On top of that it means I have a ton of experience to talk about in UCAS applications, interviews etc and can proudly call myself a STEM Ambassador. I couldn’t recommend a better volunteering opportunity for people thinking about going into IT, computer science or teaching!"
Lydia, previous NWRC Derry-Londonderry Computer Science student.
