Volunteers to help with Rainbow Centre abseil event
One of JCI's goals is to give something back to our local community. Our local charity, The Rainbow Centre, is running a charity abseil session at the Spinnaker Tower.
We're looking for volunteers to help run the event on the day - you don't have to actually do the abseil. It'll be a fun-packed event, fun and rewarding for all.
Set up will be from 7.45 am – weather permitting they will have a gazebo on the waterfront which will act as a registration post. We will need help with registering people through out the day and dismantling the gazebo etc at the end of the day around 5pm.
Please let us know if you're able to help by registering your name above and we'll be in touch to coordinate with you.
If you'd like to take part in the abseil itself, there are places still available. Please contact The Rainbow Centre directly, either through their website or by emailing Jo White ( JoanneW@rainbowcentre.org )
Abseilers have to be there 30 minutes beforehand for the briefing and to get kitted up. The abseil is from just below the first viewing platform to the roof of the café at the bottom. There will be a photographer present to capture your moment of glory.
The participant entry fee is £75 and The Rainbow Centre suggest a minimum sponsorship of £250.
There is a minimum age of 18 years otherwise participants need no prior experience just normal upper body strength. Suitable footwear is needed ie trainers.
