If you are interested in finding out more about volunteering at Knole, come along to one of our free coffee mornings. The coffee morning will start with a short presentation at 10.30am, outlining details of the opportunities that are currently available. Afterwards you'll be able to talk to some of our current volunteers to discuss specific roles in more detail and find out what volunteering means in practice. There will also be the opportunity to get a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes in this great historic house.
This is a very exciting time to be working at Knole. We are halfway through a £19.8million building and conservation project, in partnership with the Heritage Lottery Fund. 2016 saw the opening of a new Visitor Centre, Bookshop, Brewhouse Cafe and the Gatehouse Tower. The project continues in the showrooms, the Knole Conservation Studio and the Hayloft Learning Centre in 2017.
Knole's volunteers span a huge range of skills including leading park walks, assisting the conservation team, helping out on school visits and family events, welcoming visitors and providing tours of the showrooms, administration and marketing. We provide a full induction programme and training and in return you get the chance to learn new skills, work in an amazing place and know that you're helping a great cause.
