Event description

Description

With Louis Abbott (Admiral Fallow), Emma Pollock (ex-Delgados) and Donna Maciocia. Join three of Scotland’s most accomplished songwriters for an intimate gig exploring their work in Distant Voices.

Distant Voices brings songwriters together with people who have first-hand experience of the criminal justice system. The gig celebrates the launch of a truly remarkable album. Not Known at this Address features songs written with prisoners, prison staff, researchers and social workers. Through these diverse collaborations, the album offers a unique, and uniquely human, portrait of criminal justice in Scotland.

'The most striking Scottish album of the year so far' - Nadine McBay (The National).

For more on the album and the project visit www.distantvoices.org.uk Join us as we play and discuss songs from Not Known at this Address alongside other songs from Distant Voices.

'Listen to these songs, not because it's such a worthwhile project, though it is, but because you'll love them - Ricky Ross BBC Radio Scotland.

Distant Voices is a partnership project between the University of Glasgow, the University of Edinburgh, UWS and Vox Liminis. It is supported by Creative Scotland, the ESRC & AHRC (grant ref no: ES/P002536/1) and the Scottish Prison Service.

N.B. The venue requires that people are 16+ for entry.
