What's the route like?

The event offers a 5-mile distance which will be undulating. A reasonable amount of general fitness and good health is required to participate. A full route map with drinks stations will be communicated in September.  The route is not suitable for pushchairs.

What are the event features?

We will be offering Scatter Seeds for sale on the day. Your walking marshals will advise you of a safe and appropriate location where you can scatter them. We are also offering a drinks station, hosted by Higham Church, around mid-way.

The event is not refundable.

What happens if the event is cancelled?

Accepted Answer

In unforeseen circumstances, the event may be cancelled. In this case, Eventbrite will process a refund to each paying participant. This will be refunded to the card/account with which the participant paid . This may take up to 10 days.

Who is organising the event?

The event is being organised by Stratford St Mary Institute Hall. We have support from Colchester Rambling Club and Dedham Rambling Club, plus local community group Village Life. We are also being looked after by Higham Church. Thank you to the core team!

We have a series of sponsorship packages available for local businesses, and we would be happy to promote sponsors' business brand in our marketing communications.

Can I walk in a group?

Yes, we welcome participants who want to walk in a group. We will purposefully combined your group into one walking group on the day.

Do I need to bring money?

We have a Seed Scatter sales desk at registration. Please bring a small amount of cash for this feature, plus refreshments at the finish line.

What shall I bring?

Please bring some water on the day. In hot weather, please bring a hat and sunscreen. If it is raining, please bring an anorak (not an umbrella).

Registration takes place at 9.30am on event day at the Stratford St Mary Institute Hall.

What's the route like?

The route is undulating, with areas of uneven ground on occasions. The route will also have several instances of stiles, overgrown hedgerows and single file walking.  Please dress accordingly.
