CONFIRMED DEMOS
Apollo
Built for HoloLens 2 using Unreal Engine 4.23, Apollo 11 Mission AR is an interactive experience that brings high-end PC visuals to mixed reality, featuring seven million polygons in a physically-based rendering environment with fully dynamic lighting and shadows, multi-layered materials, and volumetric effects.
Chaos
Revealed onstage at GDC 2019 during “State of Unreal,” Chaos is Unreal Engine’s new high-performance physics and destruction system coming in early access to Unreal Engine 4.23. This is the full playthrough of the real-time tech demo, which is set within the world of Robo Recall. With Chaos, users can achieve cinematic-quality visuals in real time in scenes with massive-scale levels of destruction, with unprecedented artist control over content creation.
Weavr
The Weavr platform moves away from the linear “one-for-all” esports broadcasts to a highly immersive and personalised experience seamlessly integrating linear footage, multi-screens apps, data-driven content, virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality. The current version utilises second-screen technology via the companion app and a virtual reality element via a fully immersive VR headset.
The Weavr consortium comprises ESL, the University of York, Cybula, dock10, Focal Point VR and REWIND.
Curfew: Join The Race
This interactive, scripted adventure created by REWIND and Endemol, lands you on the starting grid of an illegal street race, inspired by the Sky drama, Curfew. The project combines strong narrative, action, and interactivity with the immersive nature of VR to create a gripping, visceral experience.
The Speed of Light
Porsche, NVIDIA and Epic Games revealed “The Speed of Light,” created with Unreal Engine 4 using real-time ray tracing and NVIDIA RTX technology, at SIGGRAPH 2018. Check out the interactive experience to control and edit different lighting configurations to see how they affect the car’s appearance in real time.
TROLL
During the “State of Unreal” GDC opening session, Goodbye Kansas and Deep Forest Films revealed Troll, a real-time technology demonstration using Unreal Engine 4.22 ray tracing and camera effects, marking an unprecedented level of cinematic-quality lighting, with complex soft shadows and reflections.
Land Rover Defender VR launch experience
This high-velocity helicopter VR experience, produced by Imagination, was created to mark the launch of the new Land Rover Defender. It enables users to travel to the far reaches of the globe and train as an aerial photographer on Land Rover’s ‘Special Operations’ media team, where they compete with other users to capture the perfect photo of the SUV in action.
