Witness the rise and fall of The Warehouse, a rave venue from Plymouth and times gone by now reduced to a derelict shell. We explore its history, its people and the future. An amateur filmmaker-explorer finds the building in an empty derelict state, long after the prosperous life and energy it endured through the 90s. Through a combination of archives and stories of people who lived there, the film explores through the medium of analogue what once was and how even a now silent derelict shell can become the centre of the universe.
Come join us for the first screening of W : A Return to Oz in Plymouth before it sets off into film festivals across the country.
We are joined with David Green, DJ, founder of Cultural Vibes and a key player in the Warehouse's story, interviewing director and editor Daniel Howard-Baker and producer Louis Holder.
All proceeds made in the event will go towards cost recovery for the film and towards film festival and exhibition fees for future events.
Agenda:
Doors open at 18:30 with a film starting at 19:00. The film will finish at around 19:35 followed by a QnA with David Green, Daniel Howard-Baker and Louis Holder until 20:00. Afterwhich there will be an after drinks film social at the Roundabout pub across the road from the Arts Cinema.
