This UX workshop will provide you with practical knowledge, skills and insights on user research. The session will focus on card sorting and usability testing.
** Participants are required to bring their own laptop.
Agenda
9:30 -10:00 Arrivals, Introductions, Tea, Coffee & Breakfast Snacks
Morning session
Introduction: 'What is User Research' + Questions from the students
Learning about card sorting: what are the benefits and when to use them
Practical exercise: conducting card sorting in small groups
Tea & coffee break // lunch break
Afternoon session
Usability testing: 'What is usability testing'; script writing for usability testing; how to conduct the session & ask questions without leading the participants; note-taking, recording the session, software
Practical exercise: usability testing of a website in pairs
Data analysis and show & tell: how to analyse data and present findings
Practical exercise: conduct data analysis of testing session and presenting findings to the group
