Eyes Down, Look In!
Join Wakefield Civic Society for an evening of fun and games as we celebrate with our 15th Annual Autumn Dinner at the Cedar Court Hotel, Wakefield on the evening of Friday, 25th November.
Yes, we return to the Cedar Court Hotel once again but, this year, we are ringing the changes!
First of all, we’ll be dining in the ground floor Ocean Suite at the hotel and the emphasis will be on fun and games – all in the best possible taste, of course. And, instead of a guest speaker, we’ve holding a games night with Bingo, The Human Fruit Machine, our version of Play Your Cards Right and anything else we can think up before then.
There’ll be raffle prizes to be won, a silent auction, and, of course Bingo! The evening will be a great chance to have some fun and perhaps take away a prize (or two!) while helping to raise funds for your favourite charity (yes, Wakefield Civic Society!).
The event is open to all - you don't have to be a member to come and members are, of course, welcome to bring guests. Whether you are coming alone or with friends or family, don’t forget to bring some cash and maybe your cheque book just in case you want to bid for one of the items in our silent auction.
There’ll be all the usual news and views about what is going on in the Society and an opportunity to meet up with fellow members and guests.
Dinner will be served at 7.30 pm with doors opening at 7.00 pm. There will be a cash bar and guests will be able to purchase drinks to accompany their meal on arrival. Guests will be served a welcome drink on arrival (something sparkling and alcohol free), included in the price. The dinner is a set three-course meal, with a choice of starter and main course (to be ordered in advance - see below), followed by coffee and mints. The price is £29.50 per person (plus booking fee).
We do hope that you will be able to join us for what is sure to be another enjoyable evening. If you are able to donate prizes for the raffle or the silent auction, please let us know.
Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements so that we can take these up with the restaurant on your behalf.
