Kew’s wild botanic garden – a visit to Wakehurst Place with LI South East - Saturday 21 May
• AM - Wakehurst Gardens
• PM - Millennium Seed Bank
Led by staff member Dr Kim Twinn, it will include looking at recent massive changes at Wakehurst in the way they display their plant collections and manage their estate in light of climate change pressures.
We will explore the work of the Seedbank with global reach but also focussing on our native plant species as well as managing the garden in a different way including the creation of a prairie landscape.

10:45 Brief self-led walk around Mansion gardens @ Ornamental gardens close to the Mansion
11:00 Tour of gardens with volunteer guide @ Guide Meeting Point near the Stables Kitchen.
12:15 Own picnic or lunch at café @ Ornamental gardens or Stables Restaurant
13:15 Walk to Millennium Seed Bank @ Meet in Atrium
13:30 Tour of the Millennium Seed Bank Atrium & Conservation Walk @ MSB Atrium and Bethlehem/Coates Wood
15:30 End of afternoon session and self-led walk around grounds @ Wakehurst Grounds

Guided tour booking will close on Wednesday 18 May at 6:30 pm.
