AONM Annual International Conference

Waking to a New Dawn: The Emergence of 21st Century Acquired Immune Deficiencies & Innovative Solutions

Chaired by Dr. Judy Mikovits with International Speakers

DR. JUDY MIKOVITS

Dr. Judy Mikovits earned her BA from University of Virginia, and PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from George Washington University. In her 35-year quest to understand and treat chronic diseases, she has studied immunology, natural products chemistry, epigenetics, virology and drug development. After more than 20 years researching anti-viral drug mechanisms at the National Cancer Institute, she served as Research Director of the Whittemore-Peterson Institute (WPI) for Neuroimmune Disease in Nevada for 5 years. In 2006, she became attracted to the plight of patients with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Autism. In only five years she developed the first neuroimmune institute from a concept to a reality and is primarily responsible for demonstrating the relationship between immune-based inflammation and these diseases. She has published over 50 scientific papers. Dr. Mikovits continues to work on neuroimmune disease and cancer at MAR Consulting, alongside the renowned microbiologist widely regarded as the father of human retrovirology, Dr. Francis W. Ruscetti.

As well as sharing her insights into retroviruses and neuroimmune disease, Dr. Mikovits will also be discussing her recent book “Plague: One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Autism, and Other Diseases”, and the wider implications of what it reveals (http://www.plaguethebook.com/).

Joseph G. Jemsek, MD, FACP

Dr. Joseph G. Jemsek is a board-certified physician in infectious disease and internal medicine. In early 1983 Dr. Jemsek diagnosed the first case of HIV/AIDS in Mecklenburg County during an infectious disease consultation on a young male dying with atypical pneumonia at Mercy Hospital in Charlotte. He went on to provide care for more than 2,000 individuals with HIV/AIDS through early 2006 in addition to pursuing the practice of general infectious disease.

His practice soon evolved as he began treating more and more patients with Lyme Borreliosis Complex (LBC), also commonly referred to as Lyme Disease, and began solely treating patients with Lyme in 2005. In spite of the political barriers that currently exist, he continues to create and evolve innovative approaches in the treatment of LBC and is in the process of collaborating with other researchers in the development of treatment protocols. The Jemsek Specialty Clinic’s facility in Washington DC is exclusively devoted to the care of patients with Lyme Borreliosis Complex.

Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt

Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt MD PhD has been practicing Medicine since 1975. He works since 1982 in the US and is currently the head physician at the Sophia Health Institute in Washington (Seattle) and founder of The Klinghardt Institute UK.

He is internationally known for his work with patients with chronic illness and his successes with children diagnosed with neuron-developmental disorders. In 2007 he received the award of “physician of the year” by the Global Foundation of Integrative Medicine. He has written 3 Textbooks (in German) and numerous articles and book chapters in English.

His 1979 PhD thesis examines the relationship of the autonomic nervous system and the immune system in the context of vascular and autoimmune illnesses. Many children on the autistic spectrum have become neurotypical under his care.

Professor Emeritus Garth L. Nicolson is the Founder, President, Chief Scientific Officer and Research Professor Emeritus of Molecular Pathology at the Institute for Molecular Medicine in Huntington Beach, California. He is also a Conjoint Emeritus Professor at the University of Newcastle (Australia).

He was formally the David Bruton Jr. Chair in Cancer Research and Professor and Chairman at the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, and he was Professor of Internal Medicine and Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Professor Nicolson has published over 650 medical and scientific papers, including editing 20 books, and he has served on the Editorial Boards of 30 medical and scientific journals and was Senior Editor of four of these.

Professor Nicolson has won many awards, such as the Burroughs Wellcome Medal of the Royal Society of Medicine (United Kingdom), Stephen Paget Award of the Metastasis Research Society, the U. S.
