25 March Paul Brunyee- Was he really at Waterloo and did he meet Napoleon? Researching your Waterloo ancestors

For many the task of establishing whether they had ancestors who fought in the Peninsular War or at Waterloo, can prove daunting. In this talk Paul shares with us his hints and tips on how to make this both easier and more enjoyable.

Paul Brunyee has an abiding interest in the British army in the Peninsula and in the embodied militia in Britain, during the years of food scarcity. Not surprisingly he is also fascinated by the government’s reactions to these years of war and hunger. He is also still fascinated by Napoleon’s time on St Helena. He is the editor of the Waterloo Association Journal.
