Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

Come and join us for a walk around Walberswick with an old friend of the group Rob Liddiard to look at the archaeology of the Second World War defences of the town. Rob is the co-author of A Guide to Second World War Archaeology in Suffolk and although the Second World War is the main theme of the walk, I'm sure Rob will find plenty of other things to show us from the Iron Age onwards. I'm pleased to say that we will also be joined by Lara Band of CITiZAN who gave us a guided tour of the intertidal archaeology back in May and I hope she will be able to point out more features for us.

The walk will start at 10.00am and we'll meet in the beach car park at Walberswick. Please note this is a pay and display car park.

Remember this will be the beginning of January, so please dress for the weather. Walking boots are recommended. We should finish around 12.30 to 1.00 and the Bell is just around the corner.
