Event description

Description

Canolfan Pentre is a vibrant community social, educational and wellbeing hub. The centre hosts a variety of clubs and activities including parent and toddler groups, after school dinner and craft clubs, computer club, job club and a bingo lunch club. This friendly community centre has quickly established itself as an essential resource for people living in Pentre.

The centre benefits from a rear garden area but despite this area being laid to lawn it is often unusable after it has been raining as it quickly becomes very boggy. They would like to have a basic small patio laid in the area immediately outside the rear doors to the centre.

The centre would like 2 large raised beds built at the rear of the garden.

The centre was previously used as a day centre for the elderly and the paint schemes in some areas are dated and in need of freshening up. Volunteers could help by painting the male and female toilets in a new colour scheme. There may also be other areas volunteers could redecorate.

Other support they require if the business has the knowledge and capacity:

Support with Advice and Guidance

Canolfan Pentre would like support with writing their businesses plan. The centre has developed considerably since their first business plan was written. Although their business plan has been modified each year, the centre feels they would benefit from someone else’s expertise to help them draft a fresh plan.

The centre would also welcome an IT workshop for staff, the session could include an introduction to the main Microsoft Office programmes together with a focus on online safety.
