Walking around the Heybridge Basin with local Photographer Alan Hockett, sketching skills, so bring your sketchpad!

About this event

Join the very knowledgeable Alan Hockett for a wonderful walk around the Heybridge Basin, a sketcher and photographers paradise with views across the estuary, old Maldon and of course the sailing Barges that used to ply the East coast.

Bring a sketchpad, pencils and remember to dress for the weather with sturdy walking shoes. There will be plenty of places to stop for a cup of tea and a snack, but make sure you have a re-useable bottle of water to keep hydrated.

Meet up point: Daisy Meadow car park at Heybridge Basin. (Please note that there are now parking charges in this car park, starting from £1, and participants are responsible for paying for their own parking. No cash payments - pay by contactless, RingGo app or phone the RingGo payment line. This car park is owned and operated by Heybridge Basin Parish Council.)
