Walk and Talk Like Cary Grant
Event Information
Description
Walk and talk like Cary Grant with a debonair afternoon tea at the Clifton hotel where Grant used to stay when visiting his mother.
Join acting tutors from internationally renowned Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in a masterclass on how to walk and talk like Cary Grant. And be photographed at the spot on the Terrace overlooking the Clifton Suspension Bridge, where he was famously pictured by Bristol Evening Post:
Cary used to stay at the Avon Gorge Hotel (then the Grand Spa Hotel) when visiting his mother Elsie Leach at the Chesterfield, a nearby Clifton nursing home. His mother's refined tastes perhaps influenced his remarkable journey from humble Bristol schoolboy, Archie Leach to Hollywood screen icon Cary Grant:
“My mother took me to the Claire Street Cinema, the town's most elite, where one could take tea while watching the films, and where I was first introduced to a pastry fork” (Cary Grant)
Price includes masterclass and Traditional Afternoon Tea comprising a selection of finger sandwiches, home-made scones, jam & clotted cream, Bristol fruit cake, madeleine’s & seasonal fruit tartlet. Places are limited so book now!
