Walk Create: exploring the Dockside from UEL to Art in the Docks - A creative walk exploring from UEL’s Docklands campus to Art in the Docks, with a focus on environment, heritage and wellbeing. All welcome

The Walkbook: Recipes for Walking and Wellbeing is a book of 30 ‘recipes’ for creative walking created by artists in response to research into barriers to walking.

In this walkshop artist Clare Qualmann from the #WalkCreate team will introduce recipes from the book that include ways to connect playfully and sensorially with the environment, including the stories and histories around us. The project, and the walkshop, explore the potential of creative walking activities to build a sense of connection to place/community and seek to contribute to new creative methodologies for participation and engagement.

The walkshop will begin at the University of East London’s Docklands campus, and end at Art in the Docks. The route is paved, step free, and just under 1 mile in distance. This event is part of the Creative Industries Festival, and Newham Heritage Month.
