East of London Fields – a stroll up Mare Street

Since 2002, Sean Gubbins has been devising history walks all over Hackney in the belief that, wherever you walk in the borough, every street and building has a story to tell. Join him as he discovers a new route north along Mare Street, to the east of London Fields, to absorb, reflect and learn what a stroll through a Hackney streetscape can teach us about local history.

Start: outside Blake Stanley, 11-13 Broadway Market, LONDON E8 4PH

(If you’re running late, the first stop will be in less crowded Ada Street– go South along Broadway Market and East before the canal)

End: Hackney Town Hall, Mare Street, LONDON E8 1EA

Please arrive from 6:15pm for a 6:30pm start. The event will finish by 8:30pm.

The event costs £5 for Hackney Society members (£6.13 with booking fees) and £10 for guests (£11.55 with booking fees). Please book in advance using this page.
