About this event
Talking and Exploring invites you to a guided walking tour through the evolving landscape of the Park Royal Design District, one of London’s most intriguing and dynamic creative hubs.
Once known solely as an industrial powerhouse, Park Royal and neighbouring North Acton are now undergoing a dramatic transformation. This walk offers a unique opportunity to uncover the rich history of the area—from its early 20th-century role as a major manufacturing and food production site, to its more recent reinvention as a thriving centre for artists, designers, and makers. The tour is perfect for anyone curious about London’s hidden creative corners, industrial heritage, and the ever-changing relationship between design and place.
As we walk, we'll delve into the stories behind the district’s shifting identity, tracing the layers of change across its buildings, businesses, and communities. Along the way, we’ll highlight a selection of local studios, creative spaces, and temporary installations taking part in the London Design Festival. You’ll get a flavour of what's on offer and inspiration to return and explore more at your own pace.
Everyone is welcome as long as they can take part in a walk with numerous stops on the way. Make sure you wear suitable footwear as the pavements can be uneven.
