Howard Berry – A Guided History Walk of Borehamwood’s Film Industry

About this Event

The walk:

A relaxed 1.5 mile walk along the High Street in Borehamwood, visiting the sites where the stars and studios were based. Historian Howard Berry will explain the stars in the pavement and a series of heritage plaques commemorating some of the biggest names to come to the town as well as BBC Elstree Centre and Elstree Studios. (Note: no studio access)

Participants may also like to book the talk that is to be given by Howard Berry at the Hertfordshire and Middlesex Branch of the JHSE later the same day.

The guide, Howard Berry:

Howard Berry is a filmmaker and academic from the University of Hertfordshire where he is the head of Post-Production for the Film and Television Degrees in the School of Creative Arts. For eight years he has worked on The Elstree Project, an oral history project to film, archive and share the memories of the people who worked in Elstree and Borehamwood’s six film and television studios.  Howard also regularly contributes to the BBC, as a film expert, and previously worked on feature films as a Visual Effects Editor on Sherlock Holmes, Green Zone, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Scott Pilgrim vs The World.
