Motiv8 Sports have teamed up with the Let's Do This campaign which aims to help people take small steps to better health while having fun with family and friends along the way. Motiv8 Group Leaders are qualified leaders and are willing to share their experience and enjoyment of the sport with you.
You only need to book onto the first week you are able to attend, we hope that you would then commit to attend the subsequent weeks than remain of the course thereafter.
We offer incentives to attend 5 or more sessions, including a free Let's Do This tee-shirt - which will be given on week 6.
Diabetes UK, British Heart Foundation and Tesco have come together as the Tesco Charity Partnership to inspire people to make small and achievable steps to live a healthier life - you'll be surprised how easy it can be. Discover new ways to eat better and be more active that fit in to everyday life - and have some fun with friends and family along the way.
Come on, let's do this.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
Everyone is welcome from aged 8 upwards.
Can I come along if I have attended a previous Walk Jog Run course?
Yes, you are welcome to come along, our funding covers new participants, so it would be brilliant if you could bring a friend to introduce them to the benefits of the programme.
Will I be photographed or filmed during the event?
There may be filming and photography at some sessions which may be used in publicty materials e.g. leaflets, social media, newsletters or on offical websites. Motiv8 Sport advises all activity providers to ensure that images are not accompanied by names or details that could identify individuals. If you would like to not be photographed or filmed please ensure that you mention this during the questioning section.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
There is free parking available on surrounding roads.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
Please wear layers of clothing as you will get warmer during the session. If dark, please wear light coloured clothes to improve visibility.
Please bring a bottle of water.
Please wear comfortable clothes suitable for activity and trainers/sport footwear.
Buggy Runners are very welcome but with the understanding to accept full responsibility for the health & safety of the infant(s) and any equipment you attend with.
Why do I need to answer health questions and how often I exercise?
We need to assess your health and any associated conditions to ensure the session is suitable for you as your health and safety is our priority.
Additionally, the Walk, Jog, Run programme is brought to you at no charge as we have received funding via the Tesco Charity Partnership. To comply with the funding agreement we must capture data of our participants to help assess as to whether the programme has been successful. This data is kept annonymous.
Would you like to be a volunteer or become a run leader in the future?
We encourage volunteers to help at the sessions, this can really help with your confidence, sefl esteem and may be an extra incentive to come each week. We have some funding available to train some volunteers to gain the Leadership in Running Qualification to help sustain this great programme beyond 2017. Please let the run leader know, if you are interested in volunteering or the qualification in the future.
