About the Course

The group walk leader workshop is a 3 ½ hour session for those who are interested in leading group walks in their place of work, organisation or social group.

The session includes activities and discussion on the benefits of physical activity, how to manage a group of walkers, information on route finding and risk assessments, the role of the walk leader. The aim of the session is to help the potential leader gain knowledge and confidence to lead an informal group walk.


What will you need for the training day?

Refreshments are provided at a charge of 20p per cup


Who can attend?

• Anyone aged 16 or over
• Anyone living or working in or around the Plymouth area.


How much does the Walk Leader Workshop course cost?

Training is delivered free of charge.

Your information will be held by Walking for Health, which is managed in partnership by the Ramblers and Macmillan cancer Support, in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. It will be used by the Walking for Health team, local scheme coordinators and trainers to assess your suitablity in becoming a walk leader and to maintain contact with you.
